10 Craft Ideas To Do With Hippie Coloring Pages

Here are 10 affordable, exciting, and creative craft ideas you can do with your completed coloring page!

10. Hippie-Themed Party Posters

Whether you’re hosting a Halloween party that has a distinctive theme or you’re throwing a dorm mixer, my hippie pictures can be used to make super attractive and eye-catching posters.

You can color them in on the computer using Paint or Photoshop or print them out and color them in manually.

Either way, you’re sure to bring in the crowds for your themed party by using my hippie-themed pictures as poster backdrops!

9. Party Decorations

While you’re at it, you can use my hippie pictures as party decorations as well.

From coloring them in and hanging them up on the walls to cutting out figures and/or designs and using them as place settings, you don’t have to break the bank to decorate.

You can also use just words, like “Stay Groovy” or “Peace” and “Happiness” on your walls, the food table, or even over doorways.

8. Beaded Pictures

Pick the size of beads based on the size of your little ones’ fingers – smaller fingers should use bigger beads!

You’ll print out the pictures you want to use and arm your kids with beads and glue.

They’ll fill in the lines with the beads, using different colors for different parts.

Let the pictures sit overnight, at least so the glue can set, before moving the pictures to the fridge or a wall.

7. Journal Covers

My hippie pictures would make amazing DIY journal covers, perfect for gifting at Christmas or someone’s birthday.

You can print off the illustration you want to use and cut it down however you like (or resize it before printing).

Color it in and then, using Mod Podge, affix it to the front of a plain journal. You’ll likely want to use several coats.

Let the Mod Podge dry for a few hours at least.

6. Decorative Trays

You can find inexpensive wooden or ceramic trays at the dollar store or perhaps your local crafting store, and you can also search online at Amazon for them.

Pick which hippie design you want to use and print it out; color it in and, if you want, cut out the pieces or figures.

You’re going to Mod Podge the design to the inside of the tray, going over it with several layers. Let dry.

Once it’s dry, you can also add finishing touches, like paint or glitter. Place the tray in a central location or use it to hold drinks (the Mod Podge seals it, so it’s waterproof!).

5. Suncatchers

There are so many cute parts to each hippie picture that would make for an adorable suncatcher – the hard part will be picking which illustration and which parts!

You’re going to print the design you want to use onto transparency paper and cut out the shapes/figures you want.

Then you’re either going to take tissue paper and cut it to fit within the lines or – and this is especially useful if you have small kids – you can just color over the transparent parts with markers.

Punch holes at the tops of the suncatchers and tie off a piece of string, which you can use to hang them in a sunny window.

4. Planters

You can personalize a variety of planters and vases with my hippie pictures to create a 60s or 70s-themed room.

You’re going to collect your vessels first and then print out and color in the figures/shapes you want to use.

Cut those out, and then Mod-Podge them to the planters or vases. The Mod Podge will dry clear, so you can even use glass vases.

Once they’re dry, you can add plants to the vessels and put them out on your deck or porch or in a sunny window!

3. Mobiles

All the parts in some of my hippie pictures would make for awesome DIY mobiles that would brighten any room.

Pick the picture you want to use, color everything in, and then cut out the pieces.

You’re going to punch holes in the tops of the pieces and tie off pieces of string of varying lengths.

Then, you can choose what you want the string to hang from – an embroidery hoop, a branch, or even a hanger would do the trick.

You can also embellish the mobile with macrame, beads, and feathers.

2. Wreaths

All the basic materials to make a wreath are at the dollar store, so you can make this craft on the cheap!

You’ll need the wire hoop, plus whatever else you want to use – ribbon, garlands, feathers, etc.

Weave your materials through the hoop to form the base of the wreath.

Then, you’re going to print out the shapes you want to use onto shrink sheets, color them in with markers, and cut them out.

Bake per the instructions and let cool. Once they’re ready, you can hot glue the cut-outs to the wreath.

1. Paper Dolls

There are a few hippie girl figures in my picture collection that would make “totally rad” paper dolls for your little ones to play with!

Print them out onto cardstock and have your kids color them in, then cut them out.

If you don’t have cardstock, you can print it out onto regular printer paper and then trace the outline onto a piece of construction paper.

Cut out the outline and paste the two pieces together to create one reinforced doll.
